For more than 35 years, the social entrepreneur Fritz Lietsch has been a committed representative of sustainable management. With the founding of the ALTOP publishing house and as editor-in-chief of the magazine Forum Nachhaltig Wirtschaften, he has been able to establish established figures in the discourse on sustainable economies.
Born in 1957, Fritz Lietsch studied business administration as well as market and advertising psychology at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich between 1980 and 1985. Already during his studies, he worked as editor-in-chief of various trade journals and ran his own advertising agency. On behalf of the European Commission in Brussels, he prepared an innovation study on the topic of clean technologies, which are currently gaining interest, and was thus able to lay the foundation for his pioneering position in the environmental movement . Also while still a student, in 1984, he founded the ALTOP Publishing and Sales Company for Environmentally Friendly Products Ltd.whose managing director he still is today.
With his founded publishing house he published the first edition of the Sustainable yellow pages which is still published today in regularly updated form. In the meantime, a large and diverse network of consumers and companies with a focus on sustainable management and living has developed from the foundation of ALTOP Verlag. To strengthen this network, Lietsch began in 1997 to build up the Internet portal ECO-World.de, which has established itself to this day as a leading information provider on the subject of economic sustainability with one of the most comprehensive address databases in the industry and is now the umbrella organisation for various other sustainability forums.
Lietsch reached another milestone, both personally and for the industry, in 2007 with the initiation of the Sustainability portal Forum-CSR.net and the associated magazine Forum Nachhaltig Wirtschaften. Since then, the magazine has been published quarterly with a circulation of 30,000 copies and has become the leading medium for sustainable business and corporate responsibility in Germany. An English-language edition, CSR International , is now also published.
In addition to his diverse activities as a consultant, moderator and speaker in his areas of expertise, Lietsch is also an author and organizer of various events and conferences on the topic of sustainable management. In 2010 he was awarded the B.A.U.M. Environmental Prize in the "Media" category for his services to the development of sustainable economic approaches.
ALTOP Verlag has meanwhile been awarded several prizes, including the Environmental Prize of the City of Munich. Lietsch himself is one of the pioneers today and has developed into one of the leading figures in the field of sustainability in Germany; he was one of the first to recognise the necessity of the natural reproducibility of economic activity and sustainable economies and has always put his goals into practice with extraordinary commitment and passion.
