UWi EVENT GmbH

Fillu Size Event agency with focus on event equipment

UWi EVENT GmbH has been in existence since 2002 and what makes us special is that we have over 90% of what we offer to clients ourselves. Our goal is the multiple rental of the specials we come up with for an event. We have a hall with 2,000 m² of storage space and 60 swap body containers with equipment on an area of 14,000 m². This allows us to equip large events such as the Aids Gala in Berlin and the Opera Ball in Leipzig as well as small family celebrations or company events. Tent construction is just as much our profession as stage construction; we have the largest stock of podiums in the Berlin/Brandenburg region.

FAQs

Q To what extent are their services and products sustainable?

When ordering materials from our suppliers, we pay attention to the countries of origin of the material.
If we become aware that this is produced by child labour, we break off the business relationship.
Due to the long-standing business relationships with our suppliers, we are well aware of this and are pleased that our partners also pay attention to this!

Recently, there are sustainable carpets for the event industry that can be used several times and we are now including these in our portfolio.
This also has a huge impact on waste management - disposable carpets are considered hazardous waste in Germany and here we aim to minimise this significantly!
Our waste management is otherwise commendable because it is close to our hearts - see reuse of material that is no longer needed, which does NOT automatically become waste!

We create the greatest sustainability by building our own equipment, which is then used for decades at the events and thus also leads to cost savings for our customers.

Our goals for the near future include even better purchasing management to avoid long distances for the material and child labour.
We are also constantly working on improving our electricity resources.

Q Does your company have a SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGY?

We have always tried to save energy in every way possible. We use LEDs not only at events, but also in our warehouse during production. Unfortunately, we can't get green electricity because our warehouse is too far away to feed it into the grid.

When necessary, we take the train on business trips. And as far as possible, meetings are held by video conference.
For productions outside Berlin, driving groups are formed so that as few vehicles as possible are on the road and employees also use the train when possible.

Our vehicle fleet has been converted to gas-powered vehicles and we have large transports for productions carried out by a forwarding company located in our vicinity - cost-saving and energy-conscious!

Social commitment has always been very important to us! We have been living diversity, equality and inclusion since 2002!
Since the very beginning, we have had employees and freelancers of every origin, skin colour, religion and lifestyle working for us!
In addition to professional suitability, trainees are of course also selected according to women/men/divers in as equal a ratio as possible in order to give everyone the same opportunities.
For 18 years, we have been sponsors with World Vision for 1 child each in South America and Asia, and we have already proudly accompanied 4 children up to the age of 18 and enabled them to have a worthwhile life with all chances for education and a future.
We are also involved in the children's cancer aid organisation "Haus Sonnenhof" as well as in cold bush aid for the homeless in Berlin and we support the ASB, which is also one of our customers.

We make discarded equipment available to organisations in need, both in Germany and in Eastern Europe.
In 2015, we supported the refugee aid organisation in Berlin with 2 Conatiners of material (chairs, benches, cushions, cupboards and fabrics).
