It is my concern that sustainable events become the standard and that organizers and artists deal with them accordingly as a matter of course. To achieve this, reservations must be reduced and access to information, savings potential, problem solutions and providers must be simplified. It is crucial to ask the right questions and make the right demands of suppliers, partners and service providers. For this purpose, I have developed the Sustainability Rider and the checklist in cooperation with experts, which also includes publicly available information and existing environmental laws. Ideally, the checklist becomes a logical part of contracts, requirements and offers for suppliers and trades.
Artist Relations Manager Stefan Lohmann provides the most important answers and information. With the Sustainability Rider he has developed a guideline for the entire event industry to realize events under consideration of environmental protection, social justice and economic efficiency, the 3 pillars of sustainability. A win-win-win situation! Pollution and exploitation are avoided, the audience of the next generation is addressed and last but not least, costs are reduced through careful use of resources.
In addition to the Sustainability Rider with its 13 guiding principles, Lohmann has created the network platform www.Sustainable-Event-Solutions.de. It has the function of a search engine that gives event organizers quick access to all sustainable suppliers.
Stefan Lohmann is an official partner of the German Sustainability Award, co-founder of the sustainable Berlin Show Orchestra and member of the Association of Honourable Merchants. It is thanks to him that the Live Entertainment Award, the most important award in the concert industry, is implemented in a climate-neutral manner. A clear sign of the event industry! As a Talent Buyer and Artist Relations Manager for events of all kinds, he is very closely networked with all trades in the event industry. Sustainable management is an integral part of its corporate strategy. More here.
