labconcepts - Education and Event Agency
labconcepts is an education and event agency based in Berlin and Bonn. Since 2005, we have been working at the interface of politics, education, culture and science on behalf of and in cooperation with partners from the public sector, civil society, foundations, associations and companies. As an interdisciplinary team, we bring versatile competences and use our international network in the context of analogue, hybrid and digital events, in trainings for sustainable event management and in consulting, especially when it comes to the interactive and digital communication of content and topics. We attach importance to sustainable, diversity-sensitive and inclusive aspects and take these into account in all steps of planning, implementation and evaluation.

Does your company have a SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGY?
Sustainability is more than just a topic for us. Sustainability is at the same time the basis, mission and goal of our work! We actively help shape social processes by thinking about sustainability in all dimensions - social, ecological and economic - and by stimulating, implementing and supporting ideas. In our day-to-day office work, in our dealings with our partners, as part of our services and in training courses on sustainable event management, we show ways forward and, together with our partners, look for creative, resource-conserving and environmentally compatible solutions - also in the digital space. In this way, we want to live up to our responsibility as a company and at the same time help our customers to play a pioneering role in sustainability.
To what extent are their services and products sustainable?
Our agency specialises in the implementation of sustainable event management. For many years, we have been involved in the (further) development of sustainable event management for the German Council for Sustainable Development (RNE) and its annual conferences. We digitally organised the BNE Festival NRW 2021 according to the criteria of sustainability and climate neutrality for the Ministry of the Environment and also created a concept for CO2 compensation for it. We are currently supporting the RNE in the organisation of various analogue and digital event formats under a call-off contract.
For us, sustainable event management goes hand in hand with inclusive and barrier-free planning. In doing so, we pay attention to standards such as clarifying the accessibility of locations in advance, registration is not a hurdle (simple language, barrier-free website, barrier-free livestreams through subtitling, sign language interpretation), persons with impairments receive on-site support, setting up and integrating a respect team, the content and methods do not reproduce generalising cultural or social patterns based on stereotypes and prejudices.
Measures in everyday office life: We purchase green electricity and have aligned our entire supply chain, in terms of materials and equipment, with sustainable suppliers and producers in Germany. We also look for certifications and compliance with social, ecological and economic standards when selecting our third-party service providers.
