I am pleased to announce that I will be a speaker at the prestigious IMEX on May 23, 2023. As an impact creator and expert on sustainability in the events industry, I am honored to be able to share my knowledge with such an engaged and inspiring community. In my contribution at IMEX 2023, I will focus on the positive impact we can make with sustainable events. I firmly believe that we as an industry have a great responsibility to make our events environmentally, economically and socially sustainable. Our events should not only create unforgettable experiences, but also make a positive contribution to the environment.
About the presentation at IMEX 2023
During my presentation at IMEX 2023, I will draw on my many years of experience as an expert in live entertainment concepts and present tried-and-tested tools and approaches that have already proven themselves in practice - also in collaboration with international stars. From innovative technologies to efficient logistics solutions, there are many ways to implement sustainable processes in the event industry. I am convinced that these impulses will also inspire and motivate you to take further steps towards sustainability.
This will be a good exchange at IMEX 2023 with other experts such as Tanja Knecht, Clemens Arnold, Claudia Verena Krause, Anne Sophie Müller, Ulrike Stöckle.
I am also very pleased that my commitment as co-initiator of the "16-Steps Initiative" is gaining more and more recognition. On site, I will also announce the sixth step of our initiative. Our "16 Steps Initiative" is committed to the climate neutrality of the event industry by 2025. The support of over 30 associations and networks and the response to our goals show me that more and more people in the event industry want change and are willing to take action to achieve it.

About the initiative "16 Steps to 2025 - Towards a Climate-Neutral Event Industry
More than 30 industry associations, media and networks in the green economy and event industry are promoting the "16 Steps Program" in their environment. The goal is to actively become more climate-neutral and sustainable step by step together with the entire industry. The 16 Steps are published quarterly - step by step - together to reach as many as possible. This is intended to help the event industry achieve a minimum standard for climate-neutral, sustainable events by 2025. The individual steps are based on the Sustainability Rider including checklist by Stefan Lohmann. The Rider has been reviewed by EMAS and ISO experts and has already been discussed and published several times in national and international trade magazines. The Environmental Verification Committee, responsible for EMAS certification, also supports the 16 Steps Initiative.
